To modernize its logistics operations and support business growth, leading Nordic fashion retailer Kappahl Group is moving to a new distribution center in the greater Gothenburg area. In a strategic partnership, Consafe Logistics will provide the intelligent warehouse management software, Astro WMS, in the new facility, and Vanderlande will deliver future-proof automation solutions to Kappahl.
The 34,000-square-meter distribution center will feature a shuttle system (AS/RS), a goods-to-person solution, a high dynamic storage buffer, a sorting system for e-commerce packages, palletizing robots for store deliveries, and equipment for handling hanging garments.
Consafe Logistics’ Astro WMS will orchestrate all warehouse activities and control both manual and automated processes, enabling Kappahl to run its warehouse operations optimally. The solution also includes an advanced box calculation module designed to minimize the shipping of air, aligning with Kappahl Group’s commitment to sustainable logistics.

The facility is expected to be fully operational by fall 2026. It will enhance service quality for the company’s online customers across Europe and Asia, as well as its network of 330 stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, and the UK.
